Speaker Pelosi will be attending Netroots Nation, will you?
One of Netroots Nation's goals is to facilitate in-person interaction between our political leaders and the progressive community.
So we're thrilled to announce that Speaker Nancy Pelosi will join us in Austin for a Saturday morning keynote session: "Ask the Speaker."
This won't just be any keynote. Speaker Pelosi wants to hear from you. Instead of simply giving a speech at a podium, the Speaker will be taking your questions and interacting with convention attendees.

Many of our country's "leaders" don't want real change. "More drilling is the answer," they say. But we know that our future needs a progressive vision with long-term solutions and realistic strategies for achieving it.
So we're thrilled to announce that Van Jones, an advocate for social justice and shared green prosperity, will join us in Austin for a Sunday morning keynote on eco-equality.

Lawrence Lessig to Deliver Netroots Nation Keynote
Great news! Netroots Nation is proud to announce Lawrence Lessig as one of our keynote speakers for this year's conference.
Professor Lessig, who has been called one of the "leading minds in tech" and open-source democracy by the American Prospect, is the founder of Creative Commons, and spent years working to make sure that as the rules of the Internet got written, they were written in a way that put power in the hands of regular people. He advanced his ideas through numerous books, articles and blog posts. Respected worldwide, he is one of the true luminaries of the Internet.

We have confirmed with the Clinton campaign that Sen. Hillary Clinton will be attending a breakout session as part of the Presidential Leadership Forum.
Sen. Clinton will be doing her breakout session before the Leadership Forum begins at Noon Central time in S106. You must have the appropriate wristband to attend the breakout session.

I am so sorry to announce that these obligations in DC are forcing this fab 4 to change their plans regarding their scheduled YearlyKos Convention appearance tomorrow.
I know, I know--what could possibly be more important than our annual gathering of the Netroots? That's what I said!
We are officially listing Senator Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Rahm Emanuel as cancelled and are still hopfeul that Senator Chuck Schumer will be able to join us. Reid and Pelosi will have to remain in Washington because the Senate and the House are voting through the weekend.
YearlyKos Netroots Convention Welcomes Andy Stern To Afternoon Labor Keynote
We are pleased to announce that labor leader and activist Andy Stern confirmed his participation in a lunchtime keynote to be held August 3 in Chicago.
Stern—president of the 1.9 million-member Service Employees International Union (SEIU)—will address the impact of globalization on America’s workforce. The SEIU is the fastest-growing union in North America.
"As the industrial era comes to a close, Americans need a labor movement that addresses changing realities. Andy Stern is a labor leader who does not shy away from that challenge," said YearlyKos Convention Executive Director Gina Cooper.
