At YKSL today I made new friends, felt like we created a new crackerjack team for future progressive organizing in this nascent world of online virtual worlds, and, most of all, really felt the sense of camaraderie and passion that I'm certain also pervaded Chicago over the past few days.
The YearlyKos Convention in Second Life (YKSL) is off to a roaring start, with more than 100 paid participants from around the planet convening in Second Life to create a parallel "virtual convention." I'm participating from Dubai.
Live streaming content from three venues in Chicago is the centerpiece of the virtual convention, and is complemented by YKSL-only interviews and dance parties.

On Thursday June 28, the Yearly Kos in Second Life organizing team is thrilled to announce that Jesus's General, Christian, will be joining us at our weekly party. The party starts at 6pm Pacific Daylight Time at the Registration Center, with DJ CookieMaster playing your requests live.
There will be lots of venues for meetups and parties open 24 hours a day.
I’m thrilled to announce that the YearlyKos Convention will have a virtual presence in 2007. In the virtual world of Second Life, we will be running a concurrent convention, with video of live events streamed into a virtual McCormick Center auditorium. We’ll have breakout rooms that host panels.
What began as an idea back in August, is now about to become reality... We're extending the 2007 YearlyKos Convention far beyond Chicago this year, by bringing it into the three-dimensional virtual world called Second Life. We're calling it "YKSL" for short!
