The Creative Outreach Alliance (aka ArtKos) and Daily Kos member Adam B will host an event at YKC 2007, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 2, after the evening keynote.
The Creative Outreach portion of the event will feature an open mic and stage, an exhibition of artists attending the conference, and an area for interactive live art projects. In addition to raising awareness about the arts and creativity in the political realm, this event promises to showcase the great talent to be found among the Daily Kos community. Join us for an evening of art, performance, and fun at the most exciting political event of the year.
A political pub quiz will run in tandem with the arts-related programs. Teams of 4-8 attendees will gather to compete in this four-round affair, modeled after traditional British pub quizzes, testing participants' knowledge of current events and American history. Hosted by self-described "trivia geek" Adam B, this promises to be a lively, heated battle between squads representing partisans of various presidential candidates, leading figures of the blogosphere and other groups to determine who represents the biggest nerds in the blogosphere. Bragging rights and prizes will be awarded.
Creative Outreach Alliance will also provide conference attendees with a guide of arts-related events taking place in Chicago during the conference. In addition there will be a chap book available of selected poetry, stories, graphics, comic art and photography by Daily Kos artists.
