Second Annual Gathering Invites Attendees, Speakers and Candidates to Text Out Loud

July 30, 2007—The YearlyKos Convention announced today that the convention will use LocaModa's Wiffiti® interactive platform to extend and enhance the connection among attendees, speakers, candidates and web-based communities.

Wiffiti will run on large screens that are linked to websites, enabling all messages sent by attendees to be visible on the YearlyKos website and any linked blogs in real time.

"It is interesting to see how a social metaphor of 'wireless graffiti' resonates with mobile consumers at a time when millions of people are in need of a forum in which to be heard. Wiffiti uses the mobile phone as a virtual spray-can to tag location-based screens and websites acting as ‘walls’. We call it texting out loud," said Stephen Randall, LocaModa’s CEO.

YearlyKos Convention 2007 will take place August 2–5, 2007, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois. The second annual conference will include a forum featuring potential 2008 presidential candidates; panels and caucuses led by national and international experts; prominent political, issue and policy-oriented speakers; a progressive film screening series; and the most concentrated gathering of high-profile progressive bloggers to date.
